The Burning Cup: Keep Your Coffee Warm Without Power

So you’re there sipping on your coffee when unexpectedly, it turns cold! Isn’t it the most outrageous thing to happen on a morning. You’re still in the middle of drinking it and now wondering if you should microwave it or not because you know how awful coffee taste after reheating it in the microwave.

Designed by Ryan Jongwoo Choi, the Burning Cup is the better way of keeping your coffee warm without burning it. It requires no power — just the push of a button. When activated, the liquid solution of sodium acetate contained in the inside of the cup breaks, solidifying the solution and creating instant heat. This heat not only warms up your coffee but also heats the sodium acetate, turning it from solid back into liquid — which allows you to reuse the Burning Cup over and over!
