It can be used as a standard fork, as chopsticks for ‘beginners’ or as normal chopsticks. In ‘training mode’, simply use the sticks without breaking in half the Chork — it will add support as you’re learning — and when you’re a pro, just snap the two pieces apart and there you have your chopsticks.
