The Fascinating Floating Tablecloth
The Floating Tablecloth is not your ordinary tablecloth – or should I say table. At first glance, it appears to be a graceful table covered with an elegant tablecloth, until you realize that there are no base. You’ll get tricked by the illusion of a floating tablecloth, but in reality, the tablecloth is the table.
Designed by John Brauer and handmade in Germany from 3mm thick thermoplastic acrylic, this attractive table is carefully shaped into a realistically curved floor-length tablecloth, which appears to be covering a flat surface. The corner edges of the tablecloth are smoothly formed into feet, and look like the simple folds of the tablecloth floating freely.
